Western Red Cedar is one of the world's premier quality woods noted for its appearance, light weight, insulation value and dimensional stability. Properly installed and finished, it will give years of trouble-free service and will provide a character and distinction that other sidings cannot match.
All wood used in the outdoors must be protected against decay and insect attack. Not only is Western Red Cedar one of the few woods with its own preservative oils, its freedom from pitch and resin makes it an excellent base for protective coatings. Cedar has other natural qualities that make it the best choice for decking. Western Red Cedar decks stay flat and straight and resist checking.
WFP Cedar purchases Western Red Cedar direct from the mills in British Columbia for each of our three factory finishing locations in Illinois, North Carolina and Florida. We stock more than a million board feet of sidings, more than many northwestern mills. Our inventory includes boards in dimensions up to 20 feet, and timbers up to 40 feet. Bevel sidings in clear and knotty grades are available in 4 inch to 12 inch widths. Fencing and decking are available in grades from clear to rustic.
