Our history goes back 106 years
In 1974, when the owner of Westside Lumber Company, Bloomington, Illinois started "hand dipping" boards in a tank out behind the lumberyard operation, our company officially joined what is now known as the factory finishing industry. But we started learning about wood products and finishes long before that, when West Side Coal & Lumber was founded in 1900.
The significance of our 106 years of experience is that we know this business inside and out. For the last 32 years, we have concentrated our efforts on learning everything there was to know about cedar lumber, and how to be successful selling it, first as Westside Forest Products and now as WFP Cedar.
Today, with more knowledge and experience about high quality Western Red Cedar than any other cedar supplier, we help architects and builders throughout the United States do a better job of estimating, selecting, finishing and installing cedar siding for their customers.
 Our factory finishing and distribution centers in Bloomington (IL) and Jacksonville (FL), and our Kent Logistics reloading, factory finishing and distribution center in Statesville (NC) enable us to provide Western Red Cedar direct from the mills of British Columbia to wholesale and retail customers in the Midwest, east and south.
As an added-value product, our factory-finished or prestained cedar offers many benefits over siding that is stained in the field. As an added-value company, WFP Cedar offers expertise and support, as well as a superior product, that helps our customers compete and be more successful.
